DESIGN / ART / FABRICATION

ABOUT
I grew up in Reno, Nevada. A city landscape dominated by neon. As a young artist, I discovered an industry of tradespeople and artists that created these neon spectaculars. Neon is an art form that meets science, where commercial and public arts blend. I was so compelled by neon that I began handling it in 2003 and by 2019 I completed the complicated setup of my neon shop. I have exhibited my neon work in the Refract Festival at Western Neon, Portland's Winter Light Festival, Lusio Light Festival, Colosseum Art Exhibition, and “Forest for the Trees” in the Railspur building in Pioneer Square, Seattle. My art has been recognized in books and publications such as Juxtapoz Magazine as well as appearing on CNN. My most recent neon work was on display at a solo show at Geheim Gallery in Bellingham, WA in January of 2024. Today, I use neon in my creative practices alongside metal fabrication, large-scale murals, and other public art. I have been awarded major art projects including neon pieces installed in Facebook HQ, Airbnb, Starbucks, and Mod Pizza. Several of my paintings can be viewed in the Western United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Eastern Asia. My mural work has been selected for numerous public art projects with the non-profit Urban Artworks. I studied industrial design and earned a Bachelor of Science in 2008 from Western Washington University. My industrial design background has allowed me to bring creative problem-solving solutions that turn client ideas into a reality. Industrial design is a fundamental backbone that I use throughout my creative process.
